Tuna Paella

At last I tried San Marino's Tuna Paella. It's a local brand tuna company who came to be known to the public because of Marian and Dingdong eeewww. Their best seller ('cause that's the best they can make) is their corned tuna which is too sour, too unnaturally-flavored for me.

I went to a friend's house and saw piles of canned goods in their cupboard then I got over the tuna paella and was telling him how you'd be able to preserve rice for 3 years (as per best before date) and poof, he gave me two cans of tuna. He says he can't eat this since this is too sour and he's acidic and his housemate can't either since he's on dieting himself away from any form of carb.

So I got home and set myself to eating the tuna paella. After opening the top lid I wasn't even sure if I want to eat this anymore, it doesn't look inviting. Kaning baboy-ish (what you feed to pigs made of leftover food). The tuna flakes is not that soft but still softer than 555's. The rice is not so rice-y at all, I don't know what to call that stuff and it doesn't expire in three years?! It tastes sour, maybe the company pledged to make all their products taste that way.

Still, for a small can you'll be full in no time. Laman tyan din yan!

Melon and Mushroom

Jollibee Watermelon Sprite float

Direct copycat from McDo's floats galore. Both floats are filled almost to the brim with ice. I loved McDo's Rockin' Ruby with all its strawberry goodness while hating the Green Fizz which is after all some green goo with fake kiwi flavors. Anyways, I haven't tried Jabee's Coke float so I can't compare it yet. But the Watermelon float is good. With its pinkish/anemic-red coloring you could say it almost looks watermelon-y but wait til you taste it... boom it tastes like Melon. Weird. But heyy its better than tasting like bittermelon.

Beef and Mushroom 39ers

This is like beef tapa with the excess button mushrooms and sauted garlic bits. Yum!

Big Plate

February 6, 2011

I was invited to this place by my friend to celebrate a small party. From my place in Mandaluyong, this would be too far a foodtrip but hey the ambiance of the resto is nice, the food great, and the plate really big. I just didn't like the fact that a gasoline station is standing in front of the door and a vulcanizing shop right across the street.

Price range is about 200-400. You should try the fish fillet. Must try.

Eat. Drink. Blog.

Welcome to my food blog. I'm Athan, Filipino who likes to try eating different kinds of food and cuisines, although I have no talent whatsoever regarding cooking. I'm not actually a foodie but I do enjoy good food, the cheap ones mostly. I'll be posting food from the streets and restos and stores and anywhere I can sink my teeth in.

I'll even try to rate if I like it. Rating system will be like 1 to 5 stars, 5 being the highest.

Boring = 1 star
Mejo boring = 2 stars (a bit boring)
Sapat = 3 stars (average)
Mejo masaya = 4 stars (a bit happy)
Masaya = 5 stars (happy)

Don't ask me how anyone can equate boredom and happiness while eating but I got this one from a friend and I found it funny to rate food by his scale.

Anyways, the blog title is a reference to Ms Liz Gilberts book, although I haven't read the book yet, I've seen the movie and I loved it. For Tutti! The blog URL is a reference to Alice's Adventures yah know... EAT ME! DRINK ME!

Anyways, happy eating! Bon appetite! Buon appetito! Itadakimasu! Kain na!
